Black Box Gallery in Portland has selected a cityscape image by Sacramento-based photographer Jon Wollenhaupt for exhibition in the Taking Pictures: 2018 exhibition that runs April 1-20, 2018.
The curator for the exhibition, Todd Johnson, is founder and director of Black Box Gallery. Johnson received his MFA in Photography from the San Francisco Art Institute. He has been a photography portfolio reviewer for Photolucida and has juried The Drawers Program for Blue Sky Gallery. He has been a college photography instructor for 15 years in Portland.
Johnson commented, “The Amnesiac” by Jon Wollenhaupt is a haunting and poetic image, which opens the doors into the psychic and spiritual world of post-modern portraiture. The image is framed in reflection and scale and the confrontation of looking.”
Jon Wollenhaupt said, “I very much appreciate the opportunity to show my work during the Taking Pictures: 2018 Exhibition. The photo selected for the exhibition is a part of series called Digital Disruptions, which were taken over a five-year period in the dense urban environment of San Francisco.
