Throughout the history of art, the depiction of apparitions has served various purposes, including religious devotion, storytelling, exploration of the subconscious, and contemplation of the unknown and the supernatural.

This series explores apparitions as psychological reflections and quasi surreal hallucinations that arise from the distortion of ambiguous memories or the projection of the one’s inner psychological state. These images encourage the viewer to ask questions about the nature of reality, consciousness, and the many myths and legends that are intertwined within our psyches and are a part of our personal and cultural experiences.

I have formatted these images as triptychs or quadriptych to disrupt the viewer’s notion of what is commonplace and familiar and to speak to the fragmented nature of our memories and our perceptions, which are often ambiguous or amorphous.
